In the upcoming film “Day Drinker,” renowned actor and musician Johnny Depp, captivating audiences with his diverse roles, will star alongside Penelope Cruz. Remarkably, this collaboration marks their fourth project together.
Earlier, they appeared in movies like Blow, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and Murder on the Orient Express. For this upcoming project, it will be under the guidance of director Marc Webb, renowned for his work on The Amazing Spider-Man featuring Andrew Garfield.
This is his initial significant studio film venture following his defamation lawsuit with Amber Heard.
In March, news emerged that Sydney Sweeney would be cast opposite the actor from Alice in Wonderland for an upcoming film. The plot of this movie, titled Day Drinker, was penned by Zach Dean and revolves around a cruise ship bartender who encounters a mysterious individual often seen consuming alcohol during daytime hours.
In the near future, they find themselves embroiled in an unforeseen criminal enigma that they strive to solve using unconventional methods. The film also features the talents of Manu Ríos, Arón Piper, Juan Diego Botto, and Anika Boyle.
The film “Day Drinker” marks the second recent partnership between Lionsgate and 30West. Notably, the production team behind this movie features Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee from Thunder Road, who are renowned for their work on the John Wick series. Additionally, Adam Kolbrenner will be part of the production crew along with Depp’s IN.2. 30West is also listed as an executive producer.
