Lionsgate has released the poster and trailer for a documentary called “Wick’s Tale: Inside the John Wick Universe“.
As a devoted cinephile, I found myself captivated by a movie that takes us behind the scenes of its creation – a journey shared by Keanu Reeves, director Chad Stahelski, and the talented cast and crew who have collectively breathed life into this franchise. Together, we delve into the challenging genesis of this cinematic saga, as well as its remarkable ascent that surpassed all expectations.
From Low Budget to Box Office Giant
As a passionate cinephile, I’d say “My Journey with John Wick” unveils the gritty journey of how this humble indie flick battled through obstacles—from financial crises to personal strife behind the camera. The trailer hints at production halts, fiscal anxiety, and emotional turmoil that the team experienced. Even director Chad Stahelski admits mortgaging his home to keep the project afloat. The film also delves into the groundbreaking choice to shatter a Hollywood norm by featuring a on-screen dog’s demise.
Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski Open Up
The documentary offers an unfiltered perspective of Reeves and Stahelski. In it, they discuss their relationship, the impact the films had on them personally, and how their united vision ensured that John Wick stayed consistent. What’s next for John Wick?
In the fifth installment of the John Wick series, set to hit the screens soon, we can expect the return of Keanu Reeves portraying his iconic role as the skilled assassin once again. This news has been officially verified during its development phase.
Starting on June 6th, we have “From the John Wick Universe: Ballerina” featuring Ana de Armas. This movie follows an assassin who was schooled in the methods of the Ruska Roma organization. After the demise of her father, she embarks on a personal quest for vengeance.
An upcoming anime series is being developed, serving as a prequel to the initial movie about John Wick. This new narrative follows John Wick’s journey as he successfully carries out The Unattainable Mission—eliminating all his adversaries within a single night.
Donnie Yen will also appear in a side story set after John Wick: Chapter 4, where the character Caine is seen having escaped from the control of the High Table.
