The John Wick video game is officially in development.

At Sony’s State of Play event, Lionsgate and Saber Interactive revealed a new, high-quality, single-player action game inspired by the popular John Wick movies.

The new game is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and it’s designed for players aged 17 and up.

In a new trailer, Chad Stahelski announced the first glimpse of the upcoming John Wick video game, a collaboration between Saber and Lionsgate. He says they’ll be sharing more details soon, so fans should stay tuned for updates.

Watch the reveal trailer below.

Keanu Reeves Returns as John Wick

This isn’t just a basic game based on the movies. Keanu Reeves is actively involved in making the game and will bring John Wick to life through his appearance, voice, and how he carries himself in the game.

Chad Stahelski, the director of the John Wick franchise, is also working on the project, ensuring the action and overall feel match the previous movies.

Jenefer Brown, who leads Global Products & Experiences at Lionsgate, explained that her team is collaborating with Saber to accurately recreate the exciting fight scenes, detailed environments, and realistic feel of the franchise.

Brown expressed excitement for players to experience the world of John Wick and The High Table firsthand. They’re working with Saber Interactive to create a game that delivers the same thrilling action, incredible fight sequences, detailed world, and realistic feel as the movies.

As a huge fan of the John Wick films, I was thrilled to hear from Saber Interactive’s CEO, Matthew Karch, that they’re teaming up with Keanu Reeves, Chad Stahelski, and Lionsgate to create a really high-quality, fully-fledged John Wick game. It sounds like they’re aiming for a true AAA experience, and honestly, that’s exactly what this franchise deserves!

Karch, from Saber Interactive, stated that John Wick is a hugely memorable action movie character and that they’re thrilled to be partnering with Chad Stahelski, Keanu Reeves, and Lionsgate to create a high-quality John Wick video game.

Set Before the Impossible Task

The game tells a brand new story, taking place years before John Wick was able to escape the High Table.

This installment builds upon the existing story, delving deeper into the criminal world. It features both brand-new characters designed for the game and some beloved figures from the movies.

The game aims to fully immerse players in the world of John Wick, letting them experience the action as the legendary Baba Yaga.

Gun-Fu Combat and Cinematic Action

According to Saber Interactive, the new game will capture the feel of a John Wick action movie. Players can expect fast-paced, stylish gun combat, dramatic camera angles, thrilling car chases, and detailed locations inspired by the films.

After recently releasing the successful Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, Saber Interactive has proven they can handle big-name franchises with exciting, large-scale action. Now, they’re promising that their new John Wick game will be the definitive gaming experience for fans of the series.

The John Wick Universe Keeps Growing

The John Wick movies have earned over $1 billion globally from four films. The story world is growing with the Peacock series The Continental and the spin-off film Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas. Another film featuring Donnie Yen as Caine is also being made, as well as a sequel to John Wick: Chapter 4.

Now the AAA video game marks the next major step for the franchise.

You can now add the new John Wick game to your wishlist on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
