This Christmas season, John Legend intends to share festive cheer! The singer behind “All of Me” is reviving his annual holiday concert series. Accompanied by a four-piece band, Legend aims to rekindle the classic holiday tunes from his 2018 album “A Legendary Christmas.” In an exclusive chat with PEOPLE, he discussed the purpose of this tour.
He expressed his aspiration for these performances to have an atmosphere reminiscent of a cozy get-together by the fireplace among friends, where the music provides comfort, happiness, and fosters camaraderie. Christmas has always held a unique charm in the Legend family, but over time, the singer’s feelings towards this special holiday have evolved.
In her words, “Every stage of my life, from being a child to becoming a father, has influenced how I experience this particular season.” He wishes to convey this personal voyage to his audience, aspiring to inspire the same sense of holiday cheer. “I aim for listeners to depart with feelings of warmth, nostalgia, and uniqueness,” he concluded.
On the tour, The Minefields’ frontman will express his love for narrative through his performances, drawing on themes from his professional journey, personal life, and expanding family. He is a father to four children – daughters Luna (8), Esti (20 months), and sons Miles (6) and Wren (14 months) – with model and culinary author Chrissy Teigen.
Starting from October 7, fans will have an opportunity to purchase pre-sale tickets for the upcoming tour. The general sale for everyone else begins on October 9. You can buy your tickets directly from the singer’s official website. The tour kicks off on December 2 and ends on December 21.
In August, Legend unveiled his final album titled “My Favorite Dream,” filled with catchy tunes based on his original compositions and well-loved children’s songs like “You Are My Sunshine” and Bob Marley’s “Little Birds.” This heartfelt album served as a beautiful tribute to his spouse and offspring.
