John Cena’s Final WWE Match Set for Saturday Night’s Main Event

Both WWE enthusiasts and fans of John Cena will have a last opportunity to watch the 17-time World Champion compete. Cena’s last wrestling match for WWE will be the main event of Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, taking place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

Cena’s Career Closes in D.C.

Following a year of saying goodbye, with performances at both WrestleMania 41 and SummerSlam, Cena will finish his wrestling career in Washington, D.C. He’s achieved incredible success, including 17 World Championship wins, five reigns as U.S. Champion, and two Royal Rumble victories – solidifying his place as one of the most accomplished performers in WWE history.

As a huge wrestling fan, I was really moved by what WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque had to say about John Cena. He truly believes Cena’s influence on the sport is immeasurable, and I totally agree! He also thought the event in D.C. was the perfect way to say goodbye to both Cena and all of us fans – a really fitting send-off, and I can’t help but feel sentimental about it. It’s the end of an era, and Triple H really hit the nail on the head with that statement.

“John’s contributions to WWE are immeasurable. There are no words that can truly relay how much he means to this business,” said WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque. “Together with our partners at Events DC and Capital One Arena, we look forward to honoring his legacy and delivering an unforgettable send-off for both John and the WWE Universe.”

“Washington, D.C. is known as the Sports Capital and is the ideal location to celebrate John Cena’s incredible career,” stated Angie M. Gates, President and CEO of Events DC. “We’re thrilled to host WWE fans both from Washington, D.C. and worldwide for what promises to be a memorable final match in our nation’s capital. We greatly appreciate our ongoing relationship with WWE and aim to give fans an experience they’ll always remember.”

We are thrilled to welcome John Cena for his last professional wrestling match at Capital One Arena, a renowned venue that has hosted many major WWE events throughout the years,” said Jordan Silberman, President, Venues at Monumental Sports & Entertainment. “Our arena is the perfect place to honor the career of a true entertainment legend, and its location in the heart of Downtown D.C. provides a fitting setting.”
