On the November 10th episode of WWE Raw, John Cena won the Intercontinental Championship, achieving a career milestone by completing his Grand Slam.
During his farewell tour in Massachusetts, the celebrated wrestler and 17-time WWE Champion reached a significant milestone in his career. WWE officially announced the achievement, and multiple wrestling news sources have reported on it.
It was amazing being there when John Cena came out! Triple H introduced him, and he gave such a heartfelt speech to the Boston crowd. Then, out of nowhere, Dominik Mysterio just started running his mouth, making fun of Cena and saying he was even better than Cena in his prime! Triple H didn’t even hesitate – he immediately made a match for Dominik’s title right then and there. It was a classic moment!
The match between Cena and Mysterio was a hard-fought battle. Mysterio tried to win by any means necessary, but Cena remained determined. He skillfully avoided Mysterio’s signature move, the Frog Splash, and finished with his finishing move, the Attitude Adjustment, to win the match. “I’ve finally won the Intercontinental Championship!” Cena exclaimed, officially becoming a Grand Slam champion in WWE.
THE CHAMP IS HERE!!!!! 🌐
JOHN CENA IS A GRAND SLAM CHAMPION!

This win is a great addition to John Cena’s impressive career. A WWE wrestler earns ‘Grand Slam’ status by winning the WWE Championship, the Intercontinental Championship, the United States Championship, and a Tag Team Championship.
John Cena had already achieved a lot in his wrestling career, winning the WWE Championship 17 times, the United States Championship five times, and four Tag Team titles. However, he had never won the Intercontinental Championship – until this moment.
Even though John Cena has won major titles like the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank, he surprisingly never competed for the Intercontinental Championship on TV until now – he’d only fought for it at smaller, non-televised events. Beating Rey Mysterio means he’s now won every championship in WWE, completing his status as a Grand Slam Champion as he approaches retirement.
Seeing Cena win the Intercontinental Championship felt amazing, and it couldn’t have happened at a better time! It kicked off a tournament to decide who gets to face him in what will likely be his last match, which just makes his whole farewell run even more exciting. I’m really looking forward to seeing who steps up to challenge him!
