John Cena is preparing for what comes after his wrestling career, but he intends to remain involved with the company where he became a star.
John Cena retired from professional wrestling in December 2025, but he recently shared at MEGACON Orlando that he’s enthusiastic about a new opportunity. Sources at the event, and updates from Fade on X, indicate Cena is looking for ways to contribute to wrestling even though he’s no longer competing in the ring.
During a recent question-and-answer session with fans, John Cena shared that he’s actively looking for ways to continue contributing to WWE. He expressed optimism, saying he believes he’s close to finding a new role and that they’re developing something promising. He also said he’s enthusiastic about what’s to come and hopes it all works out.
John Cena has announced he’ll be taking on a more involved role with WWE after his retirement from wrestling. He expressed his excitement for what’s coming next, hinting at a deeper integration into the company’s operations.

John Cena is considered one of the greatest professional wrestlers ever. He holds the record for 14 WWE Championship wins and a total of 17 world championship reigns. He also won the Royal Rumble twice and headlined WrestleMania six times. Although he was once criticized by some fans for his frequent victories, he’s now widely appreciated for his contributions to the wrestling industry.
Beyond his incredible wrestling career, I’m a huge fan of John Cena’s work in film! He’s popped up in some really popular movies like ‘The Suicide Squad,’ ‘F9,’ and ‘Bumblebee.’ Plus, he’s got his own show, ‘Peacemaker,’ which is fantastic, and did you know he actually released a rap album way back in 2005? But honestly, what impresses me most is his dedication to kids. He’s fulfilled over 650 wishes through the Make-A-Wish Foundation – more than anyone else in the organization’s history. It’s truly amazing.
With his busy schedule filled with movies and endorsements like his work with Neutrogena, he likely won’t be appearing on television weekly anymore. Many believe he’s heading towards a behind-the-scenes role, perhaps as a creative advisor or global ambassador. This would allow him to share his expertise and mentor up-and-coming wrestlers without needing to wrestle himself. Ultimately, he’s looking for a position that gives him more influence over the company’s overall operations.
It’s fantastic that John Cena is continuing to support and mentor the next generation of wrestlers. His experience and guidance are incredibly valuable – even more so than any title. Unlike many who find fame in Hollywood and move on from wrestling, Cena remains dedicated to the sport and the WWE team. He has a wealth of knowledge to share, and WWE would benefit greatly by letting him take a leadership role.
