John Boyega Reveals He Wants to Play Bishop in the MCU

John Boyega, famous for his roles in the Disney Star Wars films, expresses interest in joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as an X-Men member alongside Bishop, since he feels that the X-Men team isn’t excessively white.

As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I was thrilled at C2E2 when someone inquired about the Marvel Cinematic Universe role I’d covet if given the chance. Remarkably, the man at the helm of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, had posed that question to me earlier! Initially, I confessed my confusion over who would suit the part best. However, a voice from the crowd echoed with enthusiasm, “Bishop!

Boyega replied, “Oh, I’d play Bishop.”

Hasn’t been interested in Marvel

Years ago, Boyega confirmed that he had talks with Marvel, but that was back in 2018.

2022 saw Boyega dismiss Marvel speculation by expressing, “Right now, that’s not part of my plan. I’m more interested in complex roles. I want to lend my talents to independent films that offer unique and innovative concepts, as I believe it’s challenging to surpass the greatness of Iron Man within that universe.

Star Wars too white

As a movie enthusiast, I’ve been pondering over some recent buzz surrounding the Star Wars universe, and it seems that an actor has stirred up some controversy by suggesting that the franchise could benefit from more diversity in its cast.

Boyega remarked that ‘Star Wars’ often feels like it takes place in an exclusive, predominantly white space. He described the series as being so dominated by white characters that it seemed unusual to have a Black person appear within it.
