John Amos Gets Grand Sendoff As Celebrities Join His Family To Pay Emotional Memorial Service

As an ardent fan of John Amos, I was deeply moved by the heartfelt tribute paid to this legendary actor who graced our screens with his unparalleled talent and charm. The grand sendoff, filled with music from Monifah, Karen Poole, and Tone “TL” Cross, was a fitting tribute for a man who brought joy to millions through his roles in Good Times, Coming to America, and many more.

John Amos touched many hearts deeply, and this was evident when numerous celebrities gathered, standing side by side with his loved ones, to provide him an impressive farewell.

On November 23, 2024, a tribute was paid to the famed actor, who had gained recognition for his role in Good Times. This emotional gathering took place in East Orange, NJ, and was attended by John Amos’ friends and fellow celebrities, as well as members of his family.

At this significant commemoration event, not only did we pay our respects but also enjoyed performances by renowned artists like R&B sensation Monifah, gospel vocalist Karen Poole, and platinum record producer Tone “TL” Cross.

Instead, let me rephrase it for you: John Amos’ co-stars, specifically Ralph Carter and BernNaddette Stanis, were the individuals who took the stage during the event.

Simultaneously, it was reported by TMZ that notable figures such as basketball legend Violet Palmer, renowned rapper Rahzel from The Roots, and esteemed musician Lauryn Hill graced the event with their presence.

The report also suggests that AJ Calloway hosted the memorial service.

In simpler terms, Shannon, an actress from The Players Club, expressed that “The Mayor of East Orange presented my father with a declaration.

Additionally, she mentioned that the mayor had proposed naming both the East Orange High School’s football field and a street in honor of John Amos.

Back in August 2024, I sadly bid farewell to the remarkable actor who shared the screen with Eddie Murphy in the iconic 1988 comedy, “Coming to America.” His talent and charm will forever be remembered.

The Last Rifleman actor had reportedly passed away as a result of congestive heart failure.

Yet, some sources indicated that after John Amos’ demise, his daughter, Shannon, asserted she learned about it only in October.

In accordance with what she stated, I learned about the heartbreaking news through my brother K.C. Amos sharing it publicly in the media.

Shannon and her brother K.C. haven’t been on good terms due to allegations made by Shannon against K.C., accusing him of mistreatment towards their elderly father when he was responsible for his care.

This allegation was, however, dismissed by both K.C. and John Amos.

During the memorial service, both Shannon and K.C. came together.
