Joe Rogan spoke out against Donald Trump‘s recent attacks on Rob Reiner, even after Reiner had passed away.
Nick, the son of the late Reiner, has been arrested as part of the investigation into his parents’ deaths. Following Reiner’s death, Donald Trump suggested it stemmed from the resentment caused by Reiner’s frequent and strong criticism of him.

During a conversation on his podcast with Shane Gillis, Joe Rogan described Donald Trump’s recent remarks as lacking humor and compassion. He stated, “It’s difficult to support someone who shows no empathy. There’s simply no excuse for his actions in a society that values kindness and understanding.”
He argued that the comments were similar to celebrating an act of violence, explaining, “It’s like people who cheered when Charlie Kirk was shot – the same kind of reaction.”
I was really struck by something Rogan pointed out. He asked us to picture if Obama had tweeted something similar after someone who disliked him had passed away. Rogan felt it would seem completely unhinged, and he thinks it really highlights how differently Trump approaches communication – it just feels so much more extreme to him.
He was upset that Trump shared his views publicly, explaining, “It’s really disappointing. Saying it privately would be strange enough, but to say it publicly is even worse.”
On his social media platform, Truth Social, Donald Trump criticized Rob Reiner, claiming he suffers from what Trump called “TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME” (TDS) – an obsessive focus on him that Trump believes is making others upset. Later, at a press conference, Trump doubled down on these comments, labeling Reiner a “deranged person” and asserting that he is harmful to the country.
