Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke Push Signals SnyderVerse Comeback

Joe Manganiello has now doubled down on the Deathstroke teases.

Joe Manganiello recently shared a photo on Instagram of a custom-made Deathstroke action figure, following his post of a clip featuring the character from Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

The way things are happening doesn’t seem like a coincidence. It appears planned, and it heavily implies that Joe Manganiello is enthusiastic about the possibility of Zack Snyder’s universe continuing.

Joe Manganiello Signals SnyderVerse Support

This Instagram Story comes after his earlier post about Deathstroke, where he directly tagged Zack Snyder. You can see the previous post below.

With another picture of Deathstroke appearing online, it seems Joe Manganiello is intentionally keeping the character visible. Originally, Slade Wilson was meant to play a larger role in Zack Snyder’s plans for the DC Universe, and was even set to be the villain in Ben Affleck’s planned Batman movie, but that storyline was never finished.

Rumors suggest Zack Snyder’s planned DC Universe continuation—often called the SnyderVerse—could become reality if Paramount successfully buys Warner Bros. Discovery. Recent reports, including one from Deadline, indicate this possibility is gaining momentum.

As Paramount gains more traction with sales, discussions about finishing or expanding Zack Snyder’s vision for DC have become more frequent.

New Justice League Ideas From Zack Snyder?

Zack Snyder reportedly has plans for a continuation of the Justice League story. Instead of just finishing what he started, he wants to take the storyline in a new direction, and that could mean bringing back actors from the original DC Extended Universe films.

Reports indicate Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman, and Gal Gadot is set to return as Wonder Woman. Jason Momoa is also expected to come back as Aquaman. The biggest question mark is Ezra Miller; while it seems unlikely they’ll return as The Flash, director Zack Snyder has hinted at their involvement through recent posts on Instagram.

What About Ben Affleck’s Batman?

Ben Affleck’s status as Batman is said to be up in the air.

We’ve been told the physical demands of the role are a concern, but Snyder wants him back.

Considering Ben Affleck’s good working history with Zack Snyder and how well audiences liked him as Batman, it seems likely he’d be open to reprising the role if the circumstances were right.

Zack has also posted many images of Affleck as Batman.

James Gunn’s DCU and the Paramount Factor

There’s been talk that James Gunn might lose his position leading DC Studios, particularly if Paramount successfully buys Warner Bros. Discovery.

As a big James Gunn fan, I’ve been reading all the reports about Paramount leaning more towards the MAGA side of things, and honestly, it’s worrying. Gunn’s vision for DC feels really progressive and different, and it just doesn’t seem like that would fit with that political leaning. If this deal with Paramount goes through, I’m afraid everything Gunn’s building with the DCU could change completely.

Although there’s been no official word yet, Joe Manganiello’s hints about returning as Deathstroke, along with growing belief that Paramount might buy DC, are leading many to believe a deal is coming.

If the SnyderVerse does return, Deathstroke appears ready to be part of it.
