As a dedicated follower of Jodie Turner-Smith and her journey as a mother and actress, I find myself deeply moved by her passionate love for the musical Wicked and her eagerness to share that love with her daughter Juno. Her dedication to exposing her child to enriching experiences like Broadway shows is truly commendable.
Actress Jodie Turner-Smith’s four-and-a-half-year-old daughter Juno showed great interest after watching the Broadway show Wicked, despite not fully grasping the storyline. On Tuesday, November 26th, Turner-Smith discussed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon about taking her toddler to witness the popular musical.
The actress asserted that Wicked would hold a unique relevance following Cynthia Erivo’s portrayal of Elphaba in the recent movie adaptation, as she “certainly gave an exceptional performance.” Despite her daughter being too young to fully comprehend it, she wished to watch the Broadway version first before they saw the film.
In response to a question about her upcoming movie, Turner-Smith stated, “I simply said, ‘Could she watch it before we go,'” she playfully quipped. Since the film is a prequel to The Wizard of Oz, Fallon asked if her daughter had seen the original version.
Fallon expressed surprise and delight when she realized that Juno had never seen the classic, but Wicked, another favorite musical of hers, holds a special place in her heart. “I adore Wicked so much! It’s my top musical pick, and I was really looking forward to it,” she shared enthusiastically, explaining that they weren’t the only ones with a young child present.
