As a devoted fan of Jimmy Fallon, I can truly relate to his mixed feelings as the school year approaches. Just like him, I too find myself torn between cherishing the precious moments spent with my loved ones and eagerly anticipating a bit more peace and quiet at home.
This summer, Jimmy Fallon, the host of The Tonight Show, is experiencing mixed emotions as the school year draws near. At 49 years old, he confessed to PEOPLE that he’ll miss having his girls, Winnie (11) and Frances (9), back at school. Recently, Fallon has released a new children’s book titled “5 More Sleeps ‘Till Halloween,” and in a playful yet affectionate fatherly manner, he joked about hating when his daughters return to school.
“Fallon quips about not wanting children to attend school, preferring they stay with him instead. He jests that he doesn’t want them to socialize or participate in activities; all he desires is their companionship throughout their lifetime.”
Nonetheless, Fallon concurs with his partner, Nancy Juvonen, and he is aware that his daughters are ready and enthusiastic to begin the new academic year at school.
Jimmy feels a mix of joy and sorrow as his daughters go back to school. “They adore their school, they cherish their friends,” he expresses. “It’s another small milestone in their lives and another exciting journey.”
Reflecting on the summer, Fallon – who marked his 2,000th episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in July – highlighted that it was a special season for his daughters as well. “This year, they attended camp for the first time,” he shares, mentioning that he and Juvonen were “very sad” once they departed.
Despite this, Fallon finds himself eagerly anticipating occasions such as these, sharing them with his daughters, as they move through different stages in their childhood growth.
Jimmy shared that it was difficult being without his daughters, Winnie and Frances, during their initial summer camp experience this year.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve found myself in a situation where I yearn to converse more with someone dear, but our time together is limited – we can only chat for five minutes at a stretch. Oh, how I miss their presence! It’s as if I’m pleading, “Stay with us a little longer,” yet I understand they are having a blast.
Apart from expressing his enthusiasm, Fallon is looking forward to the publication of his upcoming children’s book titled “5 More Sleeps ‘Til Halloween.” This book is set to hit shelves in September, making it perfect for the approaching Halloween season. The narrative centers around two siblings eagerly awaiting the arrival of the spooky holiday. Fallon anticipates that this book will prove an enjoyable read for young readers and serve as a delightful addition to their Halloween celebrations.
Fallon remarks, “It serves as an excellent decoration, regardless of whether you plan on reading it or not.” He also suggests, “If you don’t have children yourself, but know some who go trick-or-treating, it makes a great gift to help them get excited for the holiday.”
