As a long-time Marvel fan who has seen my fair share of ups and downs, I can’t help but feel a tinge of excitement at the prospect of seeing more of Jeri Hogarth in the MCU. Carrie-Anne Moss’s enthusiasm for her role is infectious, and it’s hard not to be drawn into the possibility of witnessing more of Hogarth’s tough-as-nails charisma on the big screen.
Jessica Jones made her debut on Netflix back in November 2015, swiftly gaining widespread popularity. Critics particularly admired Krysten Ritter’s performance as Jessica and David Tennant’s role as Kilgrave during the first season. The series’ grim undertones and exploration of challenging themes such as trauma and mistreatment were also highly appreciated by viewers.
More recently, Carrie-Anne Moss, famed for her portrayal of Jeri Hogarth in Jessica Jones and other Marvel Netflix series, expressed her desire to reprise the role. In a chat, Moss stated, “I truly enjoyed playing her, one of my most cherished roles ever. I’d be thrilled beyond measure to play her once more.
In addition to Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Iron Fist, and The Defenders, Hogarth, a tenacious and resolute attorney, also made an appearance.
Although she’s hopeful, Moss confessed that she isn’t certain about the character’s reappearance, expressing, “I can’t really envision it. To be honest, I have a strong gut feeling that it won’t happen for me. However, I must admit, I don’t know for sure.
Discussions have been rife about incorporating Marvel’s Netflix characters into the broader MCU. Already, Charlie Cox’s portrayal of Daredevil has appeared in films like Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk, and Echo, while Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin can be seen in Hawkeye and Echo as well.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t contain my excitement as I eagerly anticipate the return of some familiar faces in the upcoming Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again. Among them are my old pals, Karen, Foggy, and Frank – characters that have been an integral part of my gaming world for so long!
On the other hand, it’s undecided what happens to other Netflix characters like Jeri Hogarth in the future. This ambiguity is reflected in Moss’s statements, sparking speculation among fans as to whether her character might eventually be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s possible that characters such as Jeri Hogarth could reappear in the future. Moss’s enthusiasm for the role underscores the strong connection this character made not only with her but also with the audience.
