As a dedicated follower of pop culture and reality TV, I find it fascinating to learn about the profound impact one actress can have on another’s life. Jennie ‘JWoww’ Farley’s story of being inspired by Sarah Michelle Gellar is a testament to the power of role models, especially when they are as iconic as Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
According to People magazine, it was Sarah Michelle Gellar’s portrayal of Buffy the Vampire Slayer that sparked Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley’s interest in martial arts during her childhood. The actress left a deep impression on the Jersey Shore star.
During the New York City debut of Dexter: The Original Sin on December 11 (Thursday), Farley discussed how Dexter influenced her, stating that Buffy the Vampire Slayer significantly impacted her entire childhood. She went on to mention that it was Gellar who inspired her to learn martial arts.
In the spirit of sharing my passion for all things supernatural, I too mentioned to a popular media outlet about my hobby of carving stakes, mirroring Buffy’s character from the actress. I even swore that the “vampire would burst forth.” The star of Jersey Shore shared that she once crossed paths with Gellar, but expressed her heartfelt wish to meet her again, as such an encounter would be nothing less than a dream come true for me.
At the gathering, she additionally confessed to the press that she was an ardent enthusiast of the initial Dexter series. For those not familiar, this series ran from 2006 to 2013 on Showtime, with Michael C. Hall portraying the character Dexter Morgan, who concealed his double life.
After becoming quite fond of the series following her viewing, it’s not surprising that she would share her newfound love for the project with others. According to Farley, she introduced the show to her fiancé Zach Clayton Carpinello and fellow cast member Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, who also developed a strong affection for it.
The celebrity from reality TV shows disclosed that Snooki couldn’t come to the premiere and wanted to avoid knowing about any potential spoilers, so she decided to exit their shared group chat. As Farley explained, “She was furious. [She said,] ‘Goodbye, I can’t learn any surprises.’
On this coming Friday, the 13th of December, you can stream “Dexter: Original Sin” on Paramount+ in conjunction with Showtime. Fresh installments will drop every Friday until the series concludes on January 31, 2025.
