In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s possible that actor Jeremy Renner, famous for portraying Hawkeye, could miss out on future films because of ongoing contract disputes.
At first, I thought this was just another round of typical Hollywood negotiations, where a mutually beneficial agreement would eventually be found. However, recent news indicates a more significant disagreement may be at play. Whispers suggest that my role in the Avengers franchise could potentially be on the line if I don’t meet the studio’s expectations – a prospect that is causing me some concern.
According to news outlets, it’s reported that the actor known for playing Hawkeye will reappear in the second season of the Disney+ show. However, filming has been delayed until the resolution of the contract disagreement.
Concerning the contract, the main star of “Kingstown Mayor” was contacted by Marvel to feature in season 2 of their series, a highly successful production during MCU Phase 4. Nevertheless, the actor chose not to accept, stating that he had been offered less than what he received for the initial set of episodes.
Regarding Marvel’s proposal, Renner playfully questioned whether they considered him as only “half of Jeremy” following his snowplow incident. The actor humorously told them to “take a break and go fly a kite” until they presented a more appealing deal.
It’s been reported that Renner has expressed satisfaction with the same pay he received during the first season of Hawkeye. Yet, Marvel Studios proposed a lower wage for the second season. Recent news suggests this could be due to Marvel Studios not intending to progress with a second season of Hawkeye.
The report implied that the studio faced a need to create another season, but to dodge this responsibility, they reportedly proposed an offer to Renner that he was expected to decline. In doing so, if the series indeed got cancelled, it could be attributed to Renner, thus shielding the studio from negative public scrutiny.
These disclosures emerge during the continuing speculation that Renner may join the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, a film anticipated to boast an extremely large number of characters.
