Jeremy Renner Accused of Sending Explicit Photos and Threatening To ‘Call ICE’ On Yi Zhou

Actor Jeremy Renner, famous for his roles as Hawkeye in Marvel movies and in the series Mayor of Kingstown, is facing accusations from filmmaker Yi Zhou. Zhou claims that after their romantic and professional relationship ended, Renner sent her inappropriate photos, made angry, drunken outbursts, and threatened to report her to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

What Zhou Says Happened

Filmmaker Yi Zhou publicly accused actor Jeremy Renner of sending her unwanted explicit photos and videos via Instagram and WhatsApp in June 2025. Zhou claims Renner contacted her through these platforms and sent the images without her consent, as she detailed in a series of Instagram posts.

According to Zhou, they began dating, and she then asked Renner to collaborate with her on two projects: a documentary called Chronicles of Disney and an animated movie.

She shared WhatsApp screenshots with the Daily Mail, claiming they included a brief pornographic video allegedly sent by Renner.

Claims of a Drunken Outburst in Reno

Zhou states that things got worse during a meeting at Renner’s Reno, Nevada home on August 20th. She claims Renner drank a bottle of wine, then became upset and shouted for about two hours.

She says she locked herself inside a room because she feared for her safety.

Messages Zhou sent to her colleagues reveal she described Renner as “violent” and “crazy” while the incident was happening. Her co-workers told her to stay locked in the bathroom, and she replied that she hoped he wouldn’t be able to get the door open.

Threat to “Call ICE”

According to Zhou, Renner became angry when she addressed his conduct and requested he treat her with respect as a director. She alleges he then threatened to report her to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

She shared screenshots with the Daily Mail of a text from Renner that said, “Immigration will be notified of your—,” but she didn’t show the full message.

Zhou Says Renner “Used” Her

Zhou told the Daily Mail that Renner rejected their past relationship and any joint projects after they had a falling out. She claims he wouldn’t help promote the movies they worked on together and that he took advantage of her.

I wasn’t surprised when the rumors started swirling about them as a couple. People had already noticed things after she shared a video of them driving near his place in Reno back in September – it definitely seemed like more than just a friendly drive!

Neither the Daily Mail nor the Daily Beast received responses from Renner’s camp.

Actor Jeremy Renner has dealt with serious public accusations before, including a difficult custody dispute with his ex-wife, Sonni Pacheco, in 2019. Pacheco alleged Renner used drugs, acted violently, and behaved unpredictably, but he refuted her claims. This follows a recent, life-threatening accident involving a snowplow in 2023, which Renner survived.
