Jennifer Lopez to Star in Netflix-Led The Last Mrs Parrish Movie Adaptation: All You Need to Know

Jennifer Lopez is slated to take the lead in the forthcoming Netflix film version of “The Last Mrs. Parrish,” which is based on Liv Constantine’s top-selling novel. PEOPLE announced the casting on Thursday, April 17th. The movie will be helmed by Academy Award winner Robert Zemeckis, recognized for his work on Forrest Gump and Back to the Future.

2017’s psychological thriller garnered significant interest when it was chosen for Reese Witherspoon’s book club in December of that year. Subsequently, it has sold well over a million copies worldwide and is now available in over 34 different nations.

Jennifer Lopez, together with Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina from her production company Nuyorican Productions, will join forces to produce this upcoming movie. Additionally, Molly Sims and Liza Chasin are also taking on a role in producing the film.

In response to reports from Variety, Netflix began developing the adaptation in September 2021. The scriptwriting duties have been assigned to Andrea Berloff, who was an Oscar nominee for Straight Outta Compton, and John Gatins, also an Academy Award nominee for Flight.

Beyond my ongoing project, The Last Mrs. Parrish, I’m now immersed in another Netflix film production titled Office Romance. In this endeavor, I’ll be working alongside the talented Brett Goldstein from Ted Lasso, who also penned the script for our movie. In a return to the director’s chair, Robert Zemeckis will be helming The Last Mrs. Parrish, following his previous project, Here, where he collaborated once more with Tom Hanks and Robin Wright, who starred in Forrest Gump.

In a recent sports drama titled “Unstoppable,” Lopez was most recently spotted. Her next movie, “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” had its premiere at Sundance in January and is scheduled to hit theaters on October 10.
