Jennifer Lopez is reportedly keeping her engagement ring from Ben Affleck following their divorce.
According to divorce papers examined by Page Six, Jennifer Lopez keeps the $5 million diamond ring from her ex-husband, as revealed in their settlement finalized on January 6, a little over four months since she filed for divorce to dissolve their two-year union.
As reported by the source, the stone is an exceptional 8.5-carat naturally occurring green diamond, surrounded by two identical triangular-shaped white gems.
On August 20, 2024 – exactly two years after their Georgia wedding – Lopez requested the judge to waive spousal support for both parties in her divorce filing, and also asked to revert back to her maiden name (previously Affleck) which she had adopted following her marriage with the Oscar-winning star.
Initially, JLo added that neither party had realized the shared ownership of community and quasi-community properties. Consequently, the allocation of assets was postponed for a future determination.
Not much information has come out about Affleck and Lopez’s divorce settlement.
Concerning the ring, Affleck selected an unusual hue that Lopez particularly loves. He also inscribed a touching message onto the piece of jewelry: “not.going.anywhere,” a phrase he often used to sign their initial emails when they rekindled their relationship, as shared by Lopez.
Following our separation, I’ve chosen to keep the engagement ring he gave me during our relationship as a token of my memories – not as a symbol of our past, but as a reminder of the love we shared.
“Just because the relationship did not work out doesn’t mean she has to give it back.”
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I personally have no qualms about holding onto something, knowing that even my trusted associate finds no issue with it either. After all, I’ve navigated similar situations in the past and am well-aware of the implications.
Back in the early 2000s, from 2002 to 2004, Jennifer Lopez (commonly known as Bennifer) was set to marry her actor partner. It is said that he gifted her a radiant-cut pink diamond of approximately 6.10 carats, similar in style to one by Harry Winston, during this period.
In spite of their divorce being officially finalized, it seems they’ve maintained a friendly relationship, as Lopez was spotted leaving the actor’s residence in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 5 – a day prior to the news announcement about their legal separation.
