As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I find myself deeply empathetic towards Jennifer Lopez in this situation. The memories that fill the walls of her former love nest can be overwhelming, and moving on from such a significant chapter in one’s life is never easy.
According to reports, Jennifer Lopez seems uneasy about staying in the $68 million Beverly Hills mansion she used to share with her soon-to-be ex-husband Ben Affleck. Since their separation, a source has stated that Lopez finds the reminders of their shared past at their love nest too overpowering.
A source shared with People on August 28th that since “they purchased the home for their entire family,” the dwelling is “overly spacious” for the artist to inhabit single-handedly, and it’s also overflowing with personal memories.
In the spring of 2023, after a two-year quest for our dream home, my beloved Ben and I, both turning 55 and 52 respectively, finally secured a magnificent mansion in the heart of Beverly Hills for a grand sum of $60 million. This decision came shortly after our beautiful wedding in 2022. Now, our blended family resides here, filled with love and laughter. My twins Max and Emme, now 16, join Ben’s treasured children – Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel, aged 18, 15, and 12 respectively – making our household a vibrant, joyous place to be. This beautiful dwelling is more than just a house; it’s the embodiment of our love story.
Following speculations about a split between Bennifer in May, the actor vacated the mansion and more recently acquired a less extravagant property worth $20.5 million in Los Angeles. Nevertheless, he has yet to settle into this new residence and continues to dwell in a rental house in Brentwood.
The former couple officially put their mansion on the market for $69 million last month.
This luxurious mansion, found on Zillow, spans over 38,000 square feet and boasts 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms. It features an array of amenities such as a zero-edge pool, basketball and pickleball courts, a fitness center, a boxing ring, a garage for 12 cars, parking for 80 vehicles, a two-bedroom security house, and a separate 5,000-square-foot guest apartment.
According to real estate sources who spoke to TMZ, the expensive home of the estranged star couple doesn’t seem popular with potential buyers. An agent mentioned to the outlet that the property could remain unsold for some time due to Jen and Ben asking an extra $8 million compared to what they paid for it just a year ago.
On August 20th, which marked their second wedding anniversary in Georgia, Lopez initiated divorce proceedings from Ben Affleck. She cited April 26th as the day they separated. Reports suggest that the pair didn’t have a prenuptial agreement.
Lopez declined seeking spousal support and urged the judge to reject it for Affleck as well. Moreover, she asked the court to reinstate her birth name as her official one, which was Jennifer Lynn Lopez since their marriage ended. JLo had adopted Affleck as her surname after they got married.
