Jennifer Lopez (56) Reveals the One Expectation She Has From a Man

Jennifer Lopez recently shared some honest thoughts about love while performing in Las Vegas. Between songs at her show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, she spoke to the audience about what she believes keeps a relationship strong.

A video of the singer’s message to the audience quickly went viral after a concert attendee posted it online. While performing her residency at Up All Night, she paused her show to offer the men in the crowd some funny, yet heartfelt, advice.

She started by saying, “Let me tell you a secret.” She explained that people often get the wrong idea about what makes a relationship work. Surprisingly, she said that big, showy displays of affection aren’t usually what really matters for a happy partnership.

She told the audience that women’s needs are actually quite simple. Repeating herself for emphasis, she stated, “We truly don’t need much.” She explained this by saying, “All we ask for is a little bit of sweetness – a little bit of sugar.”

She clarified that she wasn’t talking about gifts, but rather about being consistently kind and warm. “Just a little bit of kindness and sweetness goes a long way with us, and we’ll happily return the favor,” she said.

To emphasize her idea, she explained how people often return kindness in greater measure. She used examples like this: “If you give us the ingredients for a meal, we’ll create a feast. If you give us a house, we’ll make it a home.”

She ended with a characteristic bit of humor, pointing out that the understanding went both ways. “But try to cause trouble,” she quipped, “and you’ll regret it!” The audience responded with laughter and applause.

The singer is currently performing to sold-out crowds as part of her popular residency, which runs until the end of March. She’s also still a big name in movies, and several of her new films are scheduled to be released this year.

Everyone is excited for her new romantic comedy, “Office Romance,” coming to Netflix with Brett Goldstein. She’s also just finished filming the thriller “The Last Mrs. Parrish.” She continues to work in both acting and music, and recently released a new dance song called “Save Me Tonight.” She created the track with producer David Guetta and first performed it during her concerts in Las Vegas.
