Jennifer Lawrence Says She’s More Stay-at-Home Mom Than Movie Star

Jennifer Lawrence says she’s enjoying being a stay-at-home mom and taking things easy. In a recent appearance on the Smartless podcast with Jason Bateman and Will Arnett, she explained that she’s not accustomed to a hectic schedule and typically only spends a few months each year working on a film.

The actress explained that she considers herself a stay-at-home mom, even though she’s currently working. She had just finished promoting her new film, Die My Love, with Robert Pattinson. ‘I’m not used to this level of busyness,’ she shared. ‘Usually, I’m only busy for about three months when I’m filming, and even then, it’s a calmer kind of busy because I don’t have other commitments.’

Honestly, my life felt so…routine. Just work, come home, sleep, repeat. And those two weeks when the film was being promoted? Total chaos! I told Patrick Bateman I actually loved having downtime, and he just agreed, simply saying, ‘Yeah.’ It was a surprisingly relatable moment, even for someone like him.

Jennifer Lawrence says she doesn’t mind doing podcasts, but she won’t schedule interviews for 9 p.m. because that’s when she’s winding down for the night. She explained that she’s usually reading on her Kindle until around 9:15 p.m., and then typically goes to sleep shortly after.

The actress explained that she was asked to a party over the holidays, but she quickly declined. “You can’t function with a baby if you’re hungover,” she said. “And even with a three-year-old, it’s just not realistic.” Lawrence and her husband, Cooke Maroney, have been married for seven years and share two sons: Cy, age 3, and Louie, who is almost 1 year old.

Jennifer Lawrence recently appeared on a podcast just after making a stunning impression at the Golden Globes on Sunday, January 11th. She wore a beautiful, sheer floral gown by Givenchy and was nominated for Best Actress for her role in the critically acclaimed film, Die My Love. The movie, a psychological drama directed by Lynne Ramsay, tells the story of a woman struggling in rural Montana and has received some of the best reviews of Lawrence’s career.

Jennifer Lawrence has a busy 2026 ahead of her. She’s hinted she might make a brief appearance as Katniss Everdeen in the new Hunger Games movie, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, which will be released in November.
