Jennifer Lawrence is well-known for playing a major role in the Hunger Games series, but she’s also appeared in critically acclaimed films like Joy and Mother!. Despite her success, she still gets starstruck and nervous when meeting actors she admires. In a past interview with Vanity Fair, she shared that it’s difficult for her to remain calm around people she’s a fan of.
Lawrence described a peculiar pattern in her relationships: she becomes afraid of someone as soon as she’s strongly attracted to them. However, she clarified that her fear isn’t about the other person themselves, but about her own potential reactions. She recounted an amusing incident where she met Bill Maher while Meryl Streep was also present. Immediately upon Streep’s entrance, Lawrence jokingly but abruptly put her hand in front of Maher’s face and told him, “Not now, Bill!”—completely captivated by Streep’s presence.
Lawrence was too shy to speak to her that day, admitting she just stared. Fortunately, she later had the opportunity to work with the actress she admired in the 2021 film Don’t Look Up. The movie, a comedic take on environmental issues, featured a large ensemble cast. Alongside Meryl Streep, Lawrence worked with stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet, and Ariana Grande.
Jennifer Lawrence has been consistently working on new films, with several projects released or planned for 2026. Her recent movie, Die, My Love, released late last year, earned her a Golden Globe nomination. In the film, she portrays a woman grappling with personal struggles in both her mental state and her marriage. The movie, directed by Lynne Ramsay, also features Robert Pattinson and LaKeith Stanfield.
