52-year-old Garner shared on social media, “Exactly one year ago today we laid our father to rest. Whenever I talk to someone, they always inquire about my mother (thank you for your concern, friends). This morning, I had a lengthy conversation with my mom – she spent half of it expressing her gratitude and the other half laughing.

She mentioned that her mother deeply mourns her father, expressing that he was a devoted spouse and a source of joy in their household. Despite the pain, Patricia remains resolute in living life to its fullest potential, a trait that Garner describes as remarkable resilience.

In her own words, the actress from 13 Going on 30 expressed, “She deeply cherishes and yearns for her father (indeed, he was exceptional, they had such wonderful moments together), yet her mother is steadfastly choosing life. Moreover, she emphasized, ‘Mom, you’re the epitome of coolness, the best role model I could ask for. My admiration for you knows no bounds.’

Last year, Garner first shared the news of her father’s passing through a touching tribute on Instagram. She revealed that he passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on March 30th, 2024, with his family by his side. In her post, she wrote, “Though it’s not tragic for an 85-year-old man who lived a fulfilling life, I understand that grief is inescapable, lurking at the most unexpected moments.
