As a dedicated fan who has followed Blake Lively’s career since her days on Gossip Girl, I find myself deeply troubled by the recent allegations against Justin Baldoni. It’s disheartening to see someone I admired, someone who seemed to champion equality and inclusivity, accused of such serious misconduct.
On the 20th of December, Blake Lively lodged a detailed, 80-page lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, alleging instances of sexual harassment and reprisal actions, which included unwanted, inappropriate behavior on set.
The accusation further stated that Baldoni’s group had intended to orchestrate a negative campaign aimed at tarnishing Lively’s image following her expressions of worry about filming circumstances. Jennifer Abel, serving as Baldoni’s public representative, finally spoke out regarding the matter, denying the charges in a statement she posted on Facebook.
Jennifer Abel declared that no smear campaign was directed at Blake Lively, as was insinuated. Instead, she emphasized that no effort was made to harm or tarnish Lively’s reputation. In her words, “The selective messages fail to mention, though it doesn’t fit the storyline, that no ‘smear’ tactic was employed.
Abel made it clear that there was never any intentionally fabricated bad publicity or a planned approach to conflict in social media. Yet, he emphasized that they always stand ready to handle any situation as a precautionary measure within their crisis management responsibilities.
Apart from that, it’s worth noting that Abel also referred to the text conversations among herself, Baldoni, and Melissa Nathans – a crisis management consultant – which were mentioned in Lively’s lawsuit. These texts served as proof of an alleged scheme to harm Lively’s reputation, a scheme that Abel characterized as part of their social strategy.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to clarify our actions by saying, “The online buzz about Justin has been incredibly supportive, and it’s truly remarkable. Our team has indeed collaborated closely with our social media counterparts to ensure we maintain a favorable narrative for Baldoni.
Abel clarified that her remarks in the messages aimed to showcase the public’s admiration for Justin Baldoni’s work, rather than target Blake Lively.
Abel explained that they found amusement and banter in the situation where fans acknowledged the sincerity and dedication of their client without any intervention from them, other than ensuring we conducted constructive interviews. This private humor stemmed from the online reactions to Lively’s team’s complications with Baldoni.
Jennifer additionally highlighted that her group had noticed a counter-strategy intended to tarnish Baldoni’s public image. As per Abel, unfavorable reports about Baldoni served as a backup plan if he failed to meet the film’s marketing requirements.
I was ecstatic when it resulted in bringing on board the PR crisis management team to skillfully navigate the situation. Essentially, my mission was to arrange interviews, potential collaborations, and speaking engagements for my client in connection with the movie – a common task for me. I did exactly what was expected of me,” Abel asserted.
