As an ardent admirer of the enchanting world of cinema, I find myself utterly captivated by the ethereal harmony that unfolded between Jenna Ortega and Winona Ryder at the 81st Venice International Film Festival. Their outfits, a delightful dance of tulle skirts and haute couture, were as mesmerizing as a symphony of fashion, a visual testament to their unspoken connection.
At the 81st Venice International Film Festival, the ensembles of Jenna Ortega and her Beetlejuice co-star Winona Ryder harmoniously matched each other.
In a chat with PEOPLE magazine, the 21-year-old admitted that she and Ryder hadn’t intentionally coordinated their identical tulle skirts. Instead, it seemed to be an uncanny instinct they both shared.
On August 28, 2024, I had the privilege of attending a premiere where Wednesday, the star in question, graced us in a stunning red Dior Haute Couture gown. The dress featured a pleated bottom and an elegant heart-shaped top. Meanwhile, the charismatic Ryder, at 52, chose a dashing skirt suit from Chanel. Quite an impressive pair they made!
Several individuals noted that the pairing of the actors’ attire was harmonious, almost as if it had been carefully coordinated. In reality, neither of them deliberately matched their outfits.
Ortega mentioned, “We didn’t discuss it, yet it turned out amusing. I’m not sure if she picked up on it, but it was quite humorous because, without exchanging words, we both happened to wear tulle skirts. Unknowingly, our minds seemed to be connected on some level.”
Besides her dress, the actress accessorized with bracelets, white gold rings, a necklace made of Bois de Rose, and sparkling diamonds from Dior Jewelry.
Instead, the star from Stranger Things chose a crisp white button-down shirt, a stylish vest cut just below the waist, and a jacket featuring distinctive buttons.
In addition to the obvious reference, Ortega’s attire echoed Ryder’s character Lydia Deetz’s dress from the 1988 movie in another way as well. Notably, it shared a striking resemblance with the costume worn by Ryder in that film. However, this wasn’t the sole homage to the original movie.
The star’s various striped ensembles worn in New York City appear to draw inspiration from the title character portrayed by Michael Keaton.
Ortega and Ryder are gaining popularity online due to a memorable instance they both experienced during the same Venice Film Festival.
A viral video shows the actors posing for pictures, with photographers urging the 52-year-old actress to remove her sunglasses.
It appears that Ryder briefly pauses before inquiring about it from Ortega. Her youthful counterpart seems to respond, “You don’t need to,” to her. Despite this, the more experienced actor maintains her glasses and the situation moves on.
However, it’s been noted by many online that the ability to firmly say “no” is a sign of the evolution occurring within the film industry, as earlier generations of actors were often expected to be more accommodating.
