A day later, Jenna Ortega also announced her departure from the project, though she attributed it to scheduling issues with Wednesday’s second season on Netflix. However, some speculated that there might be other reasons for her leaving, which she didn’t clarify initially.

Jenna Ortega expressed to Vanity Fair that the entertainment industry seems excessively focused on political correctness, which she believes can result in a decrease in both authenticity and ethical standards. In her own words, “The world we work in is overly sensitive. In the previous two Scream movies, the action was shifted from the original victims of Ghostface’s killing spree to a new group of characters, as actors Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown disclosed.
