As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for celebrity actions that truly matter, I find myself consistently impressed and moved by individuals who use their platform not just for self-promotion, but to uplift others and make a tangible difference in people’s lives. Jelly Roll, a country music sensation whose heart seems as big as his talent, has once again proven himself to be one such individual. His recent act of kindness towards the children’s lemonade stand in West Valley City, Utah is not only commendable but also serves as a powerful reminder that even the busiest among us can find time for acts of generosity.
Jelly Roll unexpectedly visited a kids’ lemonade stand before the start of his concert tour, handing them $700.
On Sunday, August 25, the children running a lemonade stand in West Valley City, Utah experienced an unexpected treat when the famous singer known for “Save Me” decided to drop by. Just before setting off for his Beautifully Broken Tour with a performance at the Salt Lake City’s Delta Center on the 27th of August, the country star generously donated nearly $700 to their lemonade stand. Given the packed schedule of the week, this act of kindness was truly extraordinary.
One of the children’s mothers, Wendy Gardunio, shared photos on her Facebook account showing Jelly Roll embracing the kids and the money he donated to them. In her post, she expressed her surprise at encountering him. She stated, “Never would I have imagined that we’d meet Jelly Roll in West Valley. And what a kind gesture it was of him to give them nearly $700.”
The Son of a Sinner singer is no stranger to donating with an open heart. Most recently, he announced that all profits from his upcoming album Beautifully Broken will go to a charity helping with mental health and recovery from addiction. On October 11th, his tenth studio album which contains such singles like I Am Not Okay and Liar will be available on all streaming platforms. Meanwhile, ESPN has chosen his song Get By as a soundtrack for the College Football Season 2024.
He told The New York Times Magazine, “I’m looking for songs that have a purpose.” He said he moved past the place where he used to record songs simply for the sake of capital, he now records songs with messages.
Jelly Roll’s social activism is evident in his collaboration with Eminem on the song “Somebody Save Me,” featured in Eminem’s latest album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)”. The music video for this track teams up with a mental health platform, providing free services to fans for an entire month.
The sample comes from Jelly Roll’s Save Me song. Incorporating the two was special for him as he related to Eminem’s music and admired him because he had been through the same circumstances.
