The movie Tron features Ares, who adds exciting action scenes, joined by an impressive cast including Jared Leto and the original Tron actor, Jeff Bridges. During a recent talk show appearance, Bridges shared some behind-the-scenes stories about their friendship on set and the nickname he gave to Leto.
On Rob Lowe’s Sirius XM program, “Literally! with Rob Lowe,” the star of The Old Man shared warm sentiments about his Tron: Ares co-star, Jared Leto, describing him as an exceptionally talented actor.
Jeff Bridges expressed that he had never encountered Leto before, and since Leto was also involved in the production of the film, Bridges was wondering, “How will this go?” or simply put, “What can I expect from him?
During his visit to the set, Bridges mentioned that he inquired about the well-being of one of the crew members associated with Dallas Buyers Club’s actor. The person replied that others on set often referred to him as Ares, since the actor preferred using that name, which was also his character’s name from the movie.
During the show, Bridges mentioned that he enjoys building relationships with his fellow actors on film sets. However, he found it challenging to connect with Jared Leto.
In a casual manner, the actor from The Big Lebowski shared that his character’s name in the film was Ares, but he playfully addressed him as “Air.” He remembered saying, “Hey Air, what’s up, dude?” Later on, he asked Leto if it was okay for Jeff Bridges to call him Air.
During discussions about their work together on The Little Things, Jeff Bridges mentioned that he and Leto frequently enjoyed playing music together.
Jeff Bridges offered some tantalizing insights about the character Ares in the upcoming film, mindful that revealing too much would spoil the surprise.
