If you grew up between the 1980s and 1990s, there were likely many TV shows that left a lasting impression on your memory. Remember taking a day off school to watch The Price is Right with Bob Barker or The Young & The Restless, where Victor Newman was almost like a parent figure? Or perhaps the adults around you kept you hooked on series such as In the Heat of the Night or Murder, She Wrote. The latter show had grandmas tuning in regularly to follow Jessica Fletcher’s latest mystery adventures. As a youngster who aspired to be a writer and loved solving mysteries myself, I admired Jessica Fletcher greatly. Interestingly enough, a reboot movie for Murder, She Wrote is currently being developed, and it has been confirmed that Jamie Lee Curtis will take on the lead role.
Jamie Lee Curtis officially announces her role in the upcoming ‘Murder, She Wrote’ film, but it won’t be hitting screens right away!

During a recent interview on the red carpet for “Freakier Friday”, Curtis shared some exclusive news with Entertainment Tonight – she will indeed be starring in the upcoming reboot of the film, which had been speculated late last year. In her own words: “We’re nearly there, and I’m incredibly excited about it.” However, she’s holding back on her enthusiasm until production starts. After wrapping up a few other commitments, she’ll be ready to savor the work ahead.
In the upcoming “Murder, She Wrote” movie, Jamie Lee Curtis will step into the shoes previously filled by the legendary Angela Lansbury, portraying the character of Jessica Fletcher.
More information will undoubtedly emerge as this news spreads, and given Curtis’ charm, we can anticipate an exciting detective story unfolding.
