To mark its one-year anniversary, DC is offering a free, full-length marathon of its animated series, Creature Commandos, on YouTube.
To celebrate the start of the new DC Universe, the first season of the series will be available to stream for free on DC’s official channel. You can watch all seven episodes on December 22nd from 1 PM to 7 PM, and again on December 23rd from 3 PM to 9 PM.

Creature Commandos, a new series from James Gunn and DC Studios, centers around a secret team of monsters brought together by Amanda Waller (voiced by Viola Davis). It’s produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation.
The show features a diverse team including The Bride (Indira Varma), G.I. Robot, Weasel (both voiced by Sean Gunn), Doctor Phosphorus (Alan Tudyk), Nina Mazursky (Zoë Chao), and Rick Flag Sr (Frank Grillo). This series kicks off DC’s new Chapter One: Gods and Monsters initiative and is the first big project in the newly established DC Universe led by James Gunn and Peter Safran.
I was so excited when this show dropped on HBO Max on December 5th, 2024, and it totally lived up to the hype! Everyone – both critics and fans like me – seemed to love it. It’s got amazing reviews, with a 95% score from critics and a 78% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. What really grabbed me was its special blend of dark humor, really well-developed characters, and just beautiful animation. The best part? They’ve already announced a second season! We’re still waiting to find out when it’ll be released, but I’m already counting down the days.
James Gunn wrote every episode of the first season of Creature Commandos, with Dean Lorey leading the production as showrunner and Yves “Balak” Bigerel overseeing the directing. The animation was created by Bobbypills and Studio IAM. Since it launched, Creature Commandos has quickly become one of the most popular shows on Max, earning 22 million minutes of watch time in its first week.
