As a passionate movie enthusiast, I excitedly hop on my favorite social media platform today, only to find that the brilliant James Gunn has unveiled fresh glimpses of his upcoming Superman film! Among the intriguing new looks he’s shared are Lois Lane, Mister Terrific, and The Engineer – characters I can hardly wait to see in action.
Gunn shared some backstage photos on social media to mark both Edi Gathegi’s birthday and the anniversary of The Engineer, with an added glimpse of Rachel Brosnahan portraying Lois Lane.

In another tweet, Gunn expressed, “Celebrating the anniversary of The Engineer, brilliantly brought to life by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch. You’ll find their masterpiece portrayed with chilling precision by canine-human hybrid Gaby de Faria in Superman this July!
Today, we celebrate a milestone that marks the start of filming for the Supergirl movie, where actor Jason Momoa takes on the role of DC Comics’ main character, Lobo.
On the anniversary of Lobo, I find myself reminiscing about a message from Jason Momoa that I received on the day it was announced Peter and I were in charge of DC Studios – the same day Jason and I first discussed him joining the DCU as Lobo. It’s been a joy to see Jason bring this character to life, and I can hardly wait to share that experience with everyone.

On July 11, 2025, Superman will be unveiled in theaters, a project penned and orchestrated by Gunn. The movie also features David Corenswet portraying the latest incarnation of both the Man of Steel and Clark Kent, while Nicholas Hoult takes on the role of Lex Luthor.
