James Gunn Opens Up About DCU’s Approach Towards Anthony Carrigan’s Metamorpho; Deets

As a lifelong DC fan, I must say James Gunn‘s announcement about Metamorpho in Superman: Legacy has me more excited than a kid in a candy store! Growing up reading Detective Comics, I always found Metamorpho to be one of the most intriguing characters due to his unique powers and complex backstory.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I can’t help but express my excitement about the upcoming project that is James Gunn’s take on Superman. This isn’t just any ordinary film; it’s the first official DC Universe production that delves deep into the life of the Man of Steel while also introducing an array of intriguing characters straight from the pages of Detective Comics, including the fascinating figure of Metamorpho.

This well-known and recognizable comic book character has long captivated followers of DC. With the director of the Guardians of the Galaxy overseeing his entry into our universe, it’s thrilling to contemplate how he might be depicted in live action cinema.

Contrary to popular belief that Metamorpho could be a character heavily reliant on computer-generated imagery, James Gunn, the CEO of DCU and co-chair of the new franchise alongside Peter Safran, presented an intriguing alternative viewpoint to excited fans.

On the platform that was once called Twitter, the renowned filmmaker addressed a curious fan’s query about whether Metamorpho would appear as a CGI character or in a more tangible form in the forthcoming production.

James Gunn replied, confirming that Metamorpho would feature a “practical” costume in the movie.

For those new to this, Anthony Carrigan is cast as Metamorpho. He’s known for his work in a highly regarded DC production, Gotham, where he played the role of Victor Zsasz.

In the meantime, it’s been announced that David Corenswet has been cast as the latest Superman in the first DCU film, titled “Superman: Legacy”, while Rachel Brosnahan will portray Lois Lane.

In a new twist, the multitalented actor known for Mad Max: Fury Road, Nicholas Hoult, is set to portray the infamous adversary of Superman, Lex Luthor. Meanwhile, Isabela Merced will soar into action as the formidable Hawkgirl.

Additional actors joining the cast are Nathan Fillion, who plays Guy Gardner, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, and Wendell Pierce, who takes on the role of Perry White, the Daily Planet’s editor.

In addition to the main cast, Mikaela Hoover and Skyler Gisondo have been added to the movie. They’ll take on the roles of Cat Grant and Jimmy Olsen, respectively.

Regarding the character of Rex Mason, also known as Metamorpho, he underwent a mutation that bestowed upon him control over his body with stretchy and transformative abilities. He can alter his physical state between solid, liquid, and gaseous forms to concoct intricate substances or mold them into novel shapes.
