On this coming Friday, we’re observing Superman Day, an occasion one might expect to see a fresh trailer for the upcoming Superman movie. Yet, James Gunn seems to suggest that won’t be the case.
After watching the six-minute expanded sneak peek (which was actually more like four minutes of previously shown clips and two minutes of new material), a fan asked Gunn on social media when they could expect the next Superman trailer to be released.

When is Superman trailer #2?
Just as Gunn often does, he dashed the fans’ anticipation by responding, “We’ve already shown five minutes in theaters, so there’s a bit of wait ahead.
Yesterday, I had a peek at an exclusive behind-the-scenes photograph unveiled, and guess who was there? None other than James Gunn. It’s quite amusing (or concerning?) that the majority of promotional materials for Superman have been heavily focused on James Gunn. I can’t help but wonder about the underlying message behind this.
So we are going to have to wait a bit before another trailer is released.

What to expect on Superman Day?
Superman Day is Friday, April 18th.
Given what Gunn mentioned, there’s not much hope for fresh video footage, but perhaps we might see a new poster or some other update, correct?
James Gunn and Jim Lee have hinted at Superman Day, suggesting that something is in the works. Here’s hoping it’s more exciting than the annual Puppy Bowl event.
Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood revealed plans for a special celebration, featuring a single-day Superman-inspired tour spanning their expansive 110-acre backlot.
With Jim Lee involved, certainly DC Comics will be celebrating the Man of Steel.
It’s also now less than three months until the film’s release.

Release info
On July 11, 2025, Superman soars into cinemas. James Gunn will be responsible for both the script and direction, as well as production duties. Peter Safran is also involved in production.
Who stars?
As a movie enthusiast, I’d put it this way: I’m David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, and Pruitt Taylor Vince, under the guidance of Neva Howell.
Behind the movie
The movie “Superman” is overseen by executive producers Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars Winther. Behind the scenes, Gunn works alongside his regular team members. This group includes director of photography Henry Braham, production designer Beth Mickle, costume designer Judianna Makovsky, composer John Murphy, as well as editors William Hoy, Jason Ballantine, and Craig Alpert.
Plot
This summer, “Superman” – the first DC Studios film to debut on the big screen – will be flying into cinemas worldwide, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. In true James Gunn fashion, he reinterprets the original superhero within a fresh take on the DC universe, combining spectacular action, wit, and emotion seamlessly. This new Superman is propelled by empathy and an unwavering faith in humanity’s goodness.
