No Talks With Bautista, No Casting Discussions
James Gunn expressed his admiration for Dave Bautista and shared that he has several ideas for roles Bautista could fill in the DC Universe.
He made it very clear to me that he and Dave Bautista haven’t talked about Man of Tomorrow at all. He also said Bautista hasn’t been considered by anyone at DC for the movie, as far as he knows.
Gunn also spoke about the ongoing speculation regarding who might be cast, stating that none of the actors currently rumored – now totaling six or seven – have been auditioned, talked about, or even thought about for the project at this point.
The names include Matt Smith, Claes Bang, and Sam Rockwell.

Okay, let me clarify – I never said Dave Bautista was playing Brainiac in any movie. I’m a big fan of his and have thought about potential roles for him within the DC Universe, but we’ve never talked about it, nor has anyone at DC. Also, none of the actors people are speculating about have even auditioned or been considered. I’m trying to ignore the rumors, and this isn’t even the wildest one I’ve heard lately, but it’s frustrating when it involves a friend like Dave. I don’t think the person who posted this is at fault – it’s likely coming from somewhere else.
