James Gunn and David Corenswet Unveil Epic Superman Cover That Will Blow Your Mind!

James Gunn shares on social media a unique cover for the upcoming DC Comics’ “Superman Unlimited,” which depicts him alongside the latest Superman character, David Corenswet.

Gunn was astonished by the ‘cameo cover’ of Superman Unlimited #1, created skillfully by @Danmora_c, which perfectly portrayed my laptop stickers and intense gaze from the model. This unique edition will be available at your local comic book store starting May 21st. Thanks for the great work, @DanSlott!

The big reveal came at Thursday’s ComicsPro event which also features the new costume for Batman.

About Superman Unlimited

As a devoted cinephile and ardent Superman fan, I’m thrilled to share that starting May 21, 2025, DC Comics will introduce a fresh, new comic book series titled “Superman Unlimited“. This captivating narrative is penned by the gifted Dan Slott, and brings the stunning visuals of Rafael Albuquerque to life. The anticipation is palpable!

This is a component of DC’s “Superman Summer” promotional campaign, which emphasizes fresh and continuous storylines focusing on Superman, Superboy, Supergirl, Krypto, and other Superman universe characters.

On July 11, 2025, Gunn’s Superman film will hit theaters. Interestingly, Gunn made an appearance in the introduction of his animated series titled “Creature Commandos.

Here is the description for Superman Unlimited:

Starting this Wednesday, May 21st, you can pick up issue #1 of “Superman Unlimited” at your local comic shops or online retailers. To kick off the new series, there will be a 10-page prelude by Slott and Albuquerque in the “DC All In 2025 FCBD Special Edition” #1 on May 3rd as part of DC’s Free Comic Book Day events. This is an excellent opportunity for both seasoned comic book readers and newcomers to embark on a brand-new chapter in Superman’s journey!

In May, DC’s Superman Unlimited series begins with an extinction-level Kryptonite asteroid raining Superman’s vulnerability onto Earth. This makes Green K, once scarce, the most sought-after resource on the planet. The increased abundance of Kryptonite in the DC Universe alters the balance of power in criminal empires like Intergang, who are now thriving under new leadership with almost all their soldiers armed with Kryptonite bullets. The asteroid also left vast Kryptonite deposits to be mined, hinting at untold dangers yet to come. To survive and continue his mission for truth, justice, and a better tomorrow, Superman must create new partnerships, develop innovative technology, and devise new strategies.

As a passionate film enthusiast, I’m thrilled about the upcoming series, Superman Unlimited. Instead of just giving Superman’s adversaries an almost limitless supply of Kryptonite, the venerable Daily Planet undergoes a remarkable transformation. With a merger with a fresh iteration of Morgan Edge’s Galaxy Communications, it evolves into a multifaceted news platform, encompassing a cable news channel, a robust website, strong social media presence, and yes, the indomitable Lois Lane remains at the helm as editor-in-chief. Our beloved Daily Planet regulars – Jimmy Olsen, Ron Troupe, Cat Grant, and Steve Lombard – will staff satellite offices scattered across the DC universe, creating a sprawling global network. Overseeing it all is the tech genius of a new IT specialist from Gorilla City, none other than King Solovar’s goddaughter, Tee-Nah.
