However, I can’t help but worry about potential spoilers leaking onto social media from those lucky enough to attend the early screenings.

Additionally, the global release of the latest Superman film, titled “Man of Steel,” is set for July 9. This is a full two days before it hits the screens in the United States on July 11.

Gunn Addresses the Concern

On the platform known as Threads, a spectator inquired about the decision made: “Why do this? It means that for four consecutive days, the movie will be spoiled on social media. Even if it generates more tickets sales due to positive word of mouth, there’s still a chance of it having negative consequences from deliberately malicious reviews by individuals who have been trying to create negativity around this film since its inception.

James Gunn responded directly, downplaying the spoiler worries:

1) “Even if you learn about a movie’s ending before watching, it doesn’t ruin the entire experience. The enjoyment comes from more than just the surprises.”
