Jacob Elordi’s Monster Emerges in New Images From Guillermo del Toro’s FRANKENSTEIN

For many years, director Guillermo del Toro has dreamt of adapting Mary Shelley’s novel “Frankenstein” for the big screen. Del Toro is not only a fan of the original story but also a devotee of the classic Boris Karloff version. After facing numerous hurdles with various studios, del Toro is now realizing his vision of the chilling horror saga on Netflix. The film stars Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein, Mia Goth as his bride Elizabeth, and Jacob Elordi as his monstrous creation. Recently, Netflix has unveiled ten stunning images from the upcoming “Frankenstein” movie directed by del Toro. These pictures are as visually rich as one would anticipate from the director of “Pan’s Labyrinth” and “The Shape of Water.” You can take a look at them in our gallery below:

Based on Vanity Fair’s report, Frankenstein’s lab is housed within the ruins of a 18th-century water tower in the Carpathian Mountains. The detailed set design by Tamara Deverell blends science fiction with ancient mythology, a fitting choice given that Frankenstein is a groundbreaking work of Gothic literature often considered the first science-fiction novel ever written. In the latest images from Frankenstein, we don’t get a clear view of Elordi as the monster, but he is described as being like “a marble statue from antiquity, pieced back together after shattering.

Originally, Guillermo del Toro intended for Andrew Garfield to portray Frankenstein’s monster, but scheduling conflicts forced him to withdraw from the role. However, when Jacob Elordi was cast instead, it proved to be a brilliant decision, given his towering height and lanky physique, which perfectly suited del Toro’s vision for the “Modern Prometheus.” Despite numerous adaptations of this story on screen throughout the years, del Toro’s film is expected to stand out among them. Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein will be available on Netflix in November, and based on these new images, it promises to be a truly exceptional portrayal of the monster.
