Actor Jacob Elordi is all set to take on a role in “The Narrow Road to The Deep North,” a series based on Justin Kurzel’s novel that will be available for streaming on Prime Video. The show is scheduled to debut at the Berlinale film festival. As per Deadline’s reports, it has also been acquired by SKY, Max, and NBC Universal.
Regarding the storyline of the series, Elordi will portray Colonel Dorrigo Evans, an Australian physician. His romantic entanglement with Aunt Amy Mulvaney, who is his uncle’s wife, adds complexity to his private life.
Regarding the show, Mike Wald, head of distribution associates, shared that “The Narrow Road” is an epic romance featuring a stellar ensemble, led by one of the most popular young actors today, Jacob Elordi.
Additionally, he pointed out that the visuals are stunningly captured, it has a grand scale reminiscent of cinema, and due to its five-episode structure, it’s flexible for airing on various platforms.
According to the writer, the story revolves around an Australian physician who is tormented by recollections of a past romantic relationship with his uncle’s spouse and his ordeal as a captive in the Far East, particularly during the building of the Burma Railway.
The show is being penned by Shaun Grant and helmed by Kurzel. Joe Porter and Rachel Gardner are taking on the executive producer roles. Additionally, Flanagan, Grant, and Kurzel are contributing financially to the series production.
The Euphoria actor starrer has also been picked up by the BBC for the U.K run of the show.
