Jacob Elordi recently discussed filming romantic scenes with Margot Robbie for their new movie, a reimagining of Wuthering Heights. In an interview with The Sun, the 28-year-old actor talked about the easy connection he shared with Robbie, 35, who plays his love interest.

Although their on-screen chemistry is strong, Elordi explained that filming intimate moments isn’t as spontaneous as it looks. He compared it to staging a fight scene or a dance – it’s all carefully planned and rehearsed.

He stressed that the process is very technical, requiring precise movements to make sure the actors are properly positioned for lighting and camera angles. It’s much more about the details than emotional expression, he explained.

Jacob Elordi described how carefully choreographed a particular scene with Robbie was, explaining that every movement had to be precise. The limited lighting and tight space on set meant the actors had very little room to maneuver. Everything they did needed to look right within the shot and complement the lighting to achieve the director’s vision. The film, a new take on Emily Brontë’s classic, was directed by Emerald Fennell and made with a budget of $80 million.

Since its release on February 13th, the movie has grossed around $126 million worldwide. Although critics have had mixed reactions, the performances of the two lead actors have consistently been praised.

Beyond its two main stars, the film features a strong supporting cast including Hong Chau, Shazad Latif, and Ewan Mitchell. Director Emerald Fennell brings a fresh, modern style to the classic 1847 novel, similar to her visually striking work in Saltburn.
