Summary

  • Jacob & Co. and Costa Design have created the Godfather Sculpture Table, a functional art piece inspired by a timepiece
  • The monumental table features a mechanical movement and music boxes that play the iconic The Godfather theme
  • Limited to just 20 pieces worldwide, it’s the ultimate expression of collaboration between horology and sculptural art

Jacob & Co. and Costa Design Studio have teamed up to create a stunning new piece of furniture: The Godfather Sculpture Table. Inspired by their famous Opera Godfather watch, the table-designed by Pedro Costa-brings the watch’s unique style to life as a beautiful and practical work of art for your home.

This remarkable table, valued at $300,000, is a stunning example of skilled artistry. It’s built from more than 350 uniquely designed pieces, carefully put together to form seven main sections. These sections are made from high-quality materials like stainless steel, glass, leather, and aluminum. Weighing 170 kilograms and measuring 135 x 80 x 76 centimeters, the table beautifully combines elements of film, watchmaking, and innovative design.

This table is built around a complex Swiss and German mechanical movement that can run for a full 7 days, a nod to the fine watchmaking tradition. Like the watch it’s inspired by, it incorporates detailed music boxes that play the iconic Godfather theme composed by Nino Rota. This combination of craftsmanship and engineering extends to the larger design elements, which include features shaped like violins and pianos, as well as a sophisticated tri-axial tourbillon.

The Godfather Sculpture Table is a truly unique piece – only 20 will ever be made. It’s a beautiful and useful work of art, born from a partnership between Jacob & Co.’s imaginative designs and Costa Design’s incredible sculpting skills.
