Rapper Ja Rule, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, had a public argument on a flight from San Francisco to New York this weekend. Reports say he was arguing with Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda, both connected to 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records.
The altercation was captured on video and shared on social media, including TMZ.
A Delta representative said airline employees talked with the passengers who were arguing. One of those passengers was then put on a different flight, which arrived without issue.

Ja Rule responded to the incident with amusement in a statement to TMZ. He said he saw the people involved and laughed, describing them as looking shocked and comparing them to ‘deer in headlights.’ He added that they ‘always talk stuff,’ so he addressed them directly.
Hi Ja, this is Jamie from TMZ. We’re reaching out for a comment about an incident on your Delta flight from San Francisco to New York on Sunday morning. A witness says you got into a disagreement with Tony Yayo during the flight, and that you were the one who started it, using harsh language and expressing anger.

I confronted these guys on the plane all by myself, and it was pretty funny. I even threw a pillow at one of their heads because they were being weak. It knocked their hat off – it was a hilarious scene.

Uncle Murda, also known as Leonard Grant, posted a video from the flight showing Ja Rule reacting to people’s comments. Murda joked in the caption that Ja Rule had gotten off the plane and he’d taken his seat.
Okay, so 50 Cent and Ja Rule – these two clearly still aren’t friends. 50 shared some video clips online, and his caption basically said Ja Rule was deliberately trying to cause a scene because he was alone and wanted security to kick him out. It’s a pretty pointed jab, and honestly, it feels like this feud is still very much alive.
The long-running conflict between Ja Rule and 50 Cent started in the 1990s. Ja Rule has stated he doesn’t believe this rivalry has been positive for hip-hop in New York. He recently explained on a podcast with Carmelo Anthony, “Look at Kendrick and Drake – these situations never lead to anything good.” He also confidently added, “I feel like I was the better rapper.”
