As a dedicated follower of historical dramas and a connoisseur of the royal family’s intrigues, I can wholeheartedly attest to the captivating allure of Netflix’s The Crown. Having binged watched six seasons, I must say that Peter Morgan‘s masterpiece has left an indelible mark on my television viewing experience.
As a devoted fan, I’ve been enthralled by Netflix’s masterpiece, The Crown – a captivating historical drama spanning six seasons that delved into the life of the late Queen Elizabeth II and other royal family members. This series, brilliantly crafted by Peter Morgan, offered a unique perspective on their struggles and experiences, earning numerous awards and critical acclaim along the way. Recently, Peter shared insights about the creation process and what we can glean about the royal family’s reaction to this project.
In a chat with The Hollywood Reporter, screenwriter Peter Morgan shared insights about the difficulties involved in making ‘The Crown’ and potential views of the royal family regarding the series. According to him, the process was more demanding and taxing than he initially anticipated. He expressed that the delight he experienced while penning and developing content for the show fueled his determination to tackle these challenges.
The author from Rush added that he had come across a range of views about the royal family’s feelings towards The Crown. He stated, “I’ve been told they adore it, I’ve been told they despise it, I’ve heard all sorts,” and went on to say, “Until one of the royals shares their thoughts with me personally, I won’t take any rumors as truth.”
Morgan expressed that continuing the storyline beyond where the series ended in its final seasons seems premature to him. Yet, he suggested that there could be future explorations of the royal family, hinting that he may not have exhausted the subject and might approach it from a fresh perspective in future projects.
Currently, actress Elizabeth Debicki, known for her portrayal of the fictionalized Princess Diana, has expressed her viewpoint that there may be no need for additional seasons in the series.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I wholeheartedly concur with my colleague, Debicki, who recently shared her thoughts about our beloved series in an interview with People magazine. She expressed her conviction that the series found its perfect ending, remarking, “It’s always had a clear sense of direction.”
Debicki additionally commended him, stating that he skillfully concluded a massive voyage, and further emphasized that it was crucial for the series to conclude appropriately after six seasons.
The Crown is available to stream on Netflix.
