It’s Superman vs. Homelander in DC KO: BOSS BATTLE One-Shot

Ever wondered how Superman would fare against Homelander, or Batwoman against Vampirella? DC’s new crossover event, DC KO, is set to answer those questions! DC Comics announced that a special issue, DC KO: Boss Battle #1, will arrive in February, pitting DC’s heroes and villains against characters from all corners of the multiverse. The one-shot comic is written by Jeremy Adams (known for Aquaman) and features art by Ronan Cliquet, Carmine Di Giandomenico, Kieran McKeown, Pablo M. Collar, and Hi-Fi. DC KO: Boss Battle #1

For the first time, characters from DC Comics will face off against heroes and villains from other popular franchises, including comics, video games, movies, and TV shows. The battle includes Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat, Homelander from The Boys, Red Sonja, and Vampirella. Even Annabelle, the creepy doll from The Conjuring movies, will join the fight—hopefully against some of Batman’s enemies, like the Ventriloquist and Scarface! As a surprise addition, DC has also announced that Sabrina the Teenage Witch from Archie Comics will make an appearance.

The DC KO event features a battle royale among DC’s most iconic characters, all vying for the title of “King Omega” – the one hero powerful enough to defeat Darkseid. Traditionally, the fights have been limited to DC heroes and villains. However, this time around, characters from all over pop culture are joining the fray, and fans are particularly hyped to see Superman go head-to-head with Homelander. Writer Jeremy Adams described the matchup as a clash between “the biggest A-hole in pop culture” and “the big blue Boy Scout,” and wished he had more space to showcase the epic fight, including Superman telling Homelander to watch his language before sending him hurtling towards the sun!

The first issue of DC K.O.: Boss Battle comes out on February 4th at comic book stores and online. Jamal Campbell created the main cover, and special cardstock versions feature art by Jeff Spokes, Darick Robertson & Diego Rodriguez (including a Homelander image). Other variant covers are by Patrick Horvath (featuring Samantha Strong), Frank Cho & Sabine Rich (showcasing Vampirella, Red Sonja, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch), and Gleb Melnikov (with an AEW cameo). The main issue will cost $4.99, cardstock variants $5.99, and a foil variant will be available for $7.99.
