As a lifestyle expert with a profound respect for resilience and grace, I am deeply moved by the story of Shannen Doherty and her mother Rosa. The strength of character demonstrated by both women is truly inspiring.
Shannen Doherty’s mom, Rosa Doherty, recently looked back on heartfelt memories of her deceased daughter, about two months since she passed away. The beloved actress from Beverly Hills, 90210 tragically lost her life on July 13 at the age of 53 following a long-term struggle with cancer. Doherty’s mom also revealed that her daughter courageously fought and conveyed her deep sadness over the loss.
Recently, it was announced that Charmed actress Shannen Doherty’s mother, Rosa, intends to carry on the tradition of her daughter’s podcast, “Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty.” In the most recent episode on September 9, as reported by People magazine, Rosa and Doherty’s close friend, Chris Cortazzo, paid tribute to her two months after her passing.
While speaking with Cortazzo, Rosa Doherty expressed that they are incredibly lucky to have all these memories, as they bring joy but also stir emotions because they serve as a constant reminder of what has been lost.
She added, “I’ve said it before. Parents should never go last longer than a child. A child should never go before a parent, and it’s things we have no control.” The Charmed actress’ mom further expressed that her “faith” reassured her everything was in God’s hands, noting that it was also how her daughter approached life.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but reminisce about the moment when I dared to inquire if the legendary actress felt fear, to which her daughter wisely replied, “Whatever destiny has in store for me will transpire. All I can do is be shrewd and take the necessary precautions, then leave the rest to fate.” That, it seems, was her life philosophy as she courageously battled health challenges.
Initially, Shannen Doherty publicly disclosed her breast cancer diagnosis in 2015. During this episode, her mother expressed admiration for how Doherty courageously fought cancer with resilience, attributing much of her strength to her religious faith. Furthermore, Rosa shared that her daughter held unwavering faith and conviction that she was diligently taking care of her health.
In the meantime, Chris Cortazzo, her friend, underscored that the actress in The Rendering had shown immense strength during her cancer fight. He reminisced about her determination, confessing, “I honestly didn’t think she would leave us. I still can’t wrap my head around it, but she never uttered a single complaint. She would attend chemotherapy sessions and often feel unwell.
Chris mentioned that she didn’t desire any “pity” from anyone and further emphasized that he had never encountered such an event throughout his lifetime, highlighting the fact that “She belonged to a distinct category.
