‘It’s Mine’: Jerry O’Connell Reveals How He Embarrasses Wife Rebecca Romijn With a Superhero Collection

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for Hollywood dynamics, I must say that Jerry O’Connell and Rebecca Romijn are undeniably one of the most charming couples in Tinseltown. Their playful banter and shared love for unique experiences, like Jerry’s quest for Rebecca’s Mystique collectables, make them a delight to watch both on and off-screen.

Jerry O’Connell and his spouse, Rebecca Romijn, consistently captivate their fans with their affectionate aura, making them one of the beloved pairs in Hollywood. Known for their playful banter, they never fail to amuse. Jerry, famously known for his role in Star Trek: Lower Decks, has an unusual hobby during Comic-Con events – he enthusiastically searches for Rebecca’s Mystique collectibles. This quirky pastime occasionally leaves Rebecca feeling a tad embarrassed.

Back in the early 2000s, I was absolutely thrilled to see Rebecca bring Mystique, my beloved X-Men character, to life across three incredible movies. But then, in the following year, she tied the knot with O’Connell, and ever since, they’ve been setting the bar high for relationship goals!

Despite the fact that their public appearances are adorable, Jerry O’Connell appears unfazed by Rebecca’s history as a supervillain. In fact, he embraces it wholeheartedly; he even dressed up as her shape-shifting character at a convention. When speaking to Comic Book about collecting items featuring his wife’s character, he said, “My wife portrayed Mystique in X-Men, and whenever I attend a convention, I search for rare, distinctive Mystique figures and figurines. We collect them and I display them.”

He continued by stating, “I displayed it, it belongs to me, and my wife feels a bit awkward about it, yet it’s my Mystique collection.” In an earlier interview, however, Rebecca Romjin spoke of difficult experiences while working on X-Men productions under director Brett Ratner. Ratner has since faced criticism in Hollywood for alleged misconduct. Nonetheless, Rebecca found the character so enjoyable during her tenure that she expressed interest in reprising her role in the future.

After Rebecca Romijn vacated the role, Jennifer Lawrence stepped into it instead. When asked if Lawrence sought her advice on portraying the shape-shifting mutant, Romijn confirmed she did. Later, Romijn explained, “I gathered that her makeup process was quite distinct from mine. I believe she didn’t have to endure what I went through. It seems like it was less challenging for her – although I suspect that sitting through nine hours of makeup puts you in such a foul mood that it naturally makes you act evil, helping you embody the villainous Mystique convincingly!”
