As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience in the entertainment industry, I’ve seen my fair share of behind-the-scenes drama and creative differences. The recent feud rumors surrounding Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni, and It Ends With Us have certainly piqued my interest.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to clear up some speculation floating around regarding the film “It Ends With Us.” Contrary to what some online chatter might suggest, there seems to be no major feud between its stars and producers, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, who also helmed the project as director. It appears that their differences, if any, revolve around the creative direction for the film. If the rumors are true, it seems that Blake wished to highlight female agency and individuality, while Justin aimed to deliver a powerful message about domestic violence survivors. However, it’s essential to remember that creative processes often involve diverse perspectives, which can lead to lively discussions but not necessarily disagreements.
In this conflict, a large number of online users supported the actor from Jane the Virgin, causing an escalation that resulted in harsh criticism and verbal attacks not just towards Lively, but also towards other women associated with the project, such as the author of the original material, Colleen Hoover.
Sklenar, who played Lily Bloom’s (Lively) childhood friend and former boyfriend Atlas Corrigan, defended the female cast members against those criticizing them excessively. On August 21st, Wednesday, the actor posted a lengthy message on Instagram expressing his perspective during the ongoing debate.
In his words, “Colleen and her fellow cast members symbolize hope, resilience, and self-improvement for women. It’s contradictory and undermines the essence of our movie to criticize the women who poured so much passion and dedication into its creation.”
He added that the rumors about women diminishing the film’s sensitive message are completely opposite to the reality and claimed that the film was being made because they believed in the core message.
Instead, he didn’t directly address the rumored dispute between actors Lively and Baldoni. He stated, “Whatever transpired off-screen shouldn’t and hopefully doesn’t impact the reasons we made this movie,” alluding to any potential internal disagreements within the cast.
It seems that this hint suggests there could be a genuine disagreement among the actors regarding creative aspects, leading to separate appearances on red carpets and interviews. Regarding the movie promotions, Baldoni has been focusing on discussing the film’s theme about domestic violence and its message. In contrast, Lively has opted for more light-hearted and humorous promotional activities, which some viewers feel is inappropriate given the film’s serious subject matter.
In spite of the debates and disputes, the movie garnered immense success commercially and surpassed the $100 million threshold at the domestic box office in merely 11 days. Currently, “It Ends With Us” can be seen in cinemas.
