The first part of the IT: Welcome to Derry story has concluded, and Pennywise is temporarily defeated, giving the town of Derry another 27 years of calm before his return. While we await news about a potential second season, fans can look forward to owning the complete first season on 4K UHD (in a limited edition Steelbook), Blu-ray, and DVD in 2026.
Shortly after the first season ended, news came out about the release of Welcome to Derry in 4K UHD. The release will have all eight episodes, plus some extra content for fans – including three longer behind-the-scenes looks at each episode, and a brand new featurette that you won’t find anywhere else.
A special feature on the 4K release of Welcome to Derry will delve into the social and political climate of 1962, including issues like racial segregation, Cold War anxieties, and the government’s treatment of Native American land – all of which contribute to the town’s terrifying atmosphere. The 4K edition arrives on May 5, 2026, and is available for pre-order now. The Steelbook version also comes with six exclusive postcards featuring imagery from Derry.
If you prefer to watch without DVDs or Blu-rays, you can buy the show online through platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, YouTube, and Fandango at Home. However you choose to get it, this is one of the year’s best shows and well worth adding to your collection.
