As a devoted fan, I wholeheartedly respect Ray Romano’s sentiments towards Everybody Loves Raymond. It’s not every day that we come across an actor who was so deeply invested in the creation of such a timeless series, serving not just as the star but also as an executive producer and scriptwriter.
As a connoisseur of timeless television, I can confidently say that Everybody Loves Raymond holds a special place in my heart. With several vintage series making a comeback these days, the question of a potential Everybody Loves Raymond reboot has been raised. Recently, I, Ray Romano, have shared my reflections on this intriguing possibility.
In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Ray Romano expressed some guardedness about the show “Everybody Loves Raymond”.
Regarding his latest series, No Good Deed, the actor expressed that the sitcom carries a lot of personal significance for him. He mentioned that reviving the show isn’t something he’s keen on as it was inspired by his own life experiences. He emphasized that he played an active role in shaping the creative direction of the series.
It’s worth noting that besides acting in Everybody Loves Raymond, Ray Romano took on additional roles as well. He served as an executive producer for the show and even penned a number of its episodes during its impressive nine-season span.
During the discussion about a possible revival, Romano made clear his preference for the series not to be remade or rebooted within the United States.
To add, it’s significant to mention that Everybody Loves Raymond has managed to thrive in various foreign markets, including Egypt, India, Poland, Israel, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands, by adapting to their local cultures.
In simple terms, the Polish version of Everybody Loves Raymond, known as Wszyscy kochają Romana, was taken off the air after just four episodes because it didn’t attract enough viewers.
As a devoted fan, I’m proud to share that the Russian adaptation, Voroniny, has held the record as the longest-running adaptation of the series worldwide since 2017.
Talking about these adaptations, Ray Romano mentioned that he appreciates them because they showcase the universal similarities among us, regardless of cultural differences.
Romano will now be seen alongside Lisa Kudrow in the new Netflix series, No Good Deed.
This series boasts an impressive lineup including Linda Cardellini, O-T Fagbenle, Teyonah Parris, Abbi Jacobson, among others. You can catch the debut season of No Good Deed on Netflix right now.
