‘It Was Creepy and Sweet’: Keira Knightley Recalls People Joking About The Famous Cue-Cards From Her Film Love Actually

As a dedicated fan who has followed Keira Knightley‘s career since her days as Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice, I find it absolutely delightful to see how her roles continue to resonate with people years after they were first released. The cue card scene from Love Actually is undeniably one of the most iconic moments in modern cinema, and it’s heartwarming to know that even construction workers are inspired by it!

Keira Knightley continues to be celebrated for her part in the popular Christmas romantic comedy, Love Actually, particularly due to the iconic scene involving cue cards. During this scene, the character played by Andrew Lincoln uses these cards to express his love for Knightley’s character, Juliet.

On an episode of The Graham Norton Show on November 29th, the actress from Pride and Prejudice shared a funny story about construction workers. She explained that one day, while she was stuck in traffic for quite some time, a group of builders in a nearby car started waving signs at her just like they do in movies.

Knightley acknowledged that the experience was both unsettling and charming, reminiscent of a movie scene. The actress from Atonement, currently promoting her new spy thriller Black Doves on a talk show, is a mom of two and even executed several daring stunts for the film, being married to rock star James Righton.

Initially, Ben Whishaw’s character, an assassin, was only required to simulate spying while using numerous guns in the initial script. However, in the revised version, not only did he have to fire guns but also engage in knife fights and Ju-Jitsu. As a result, what started as a relatively simple role turned into one with extensive fighting scenes and rigorous training.

The series revolves around Helen (Knightley), who becomes involved in a passionate love affair with a man unaware of her secret identity. “Caught in the crosshairs when her lover falls victim to the dangerous London underworld, Helen’s employers call in Sam to protect her,” says the official synopsis. The film is set to hit theaters on December 5.

On “The Graham Norton Show,” Cher made an appearance to discuss her recently published memoir, which carries her name as its title. The singer discussed candidly the peculiar nature of her past relationship with her ex-husband and musical partner, Sonny Bono. Despite experiencing highs and lows due to Bono and his attorney having control over their business ventures, Cher expressed that she harbored no lingering resentment following their split.

She has no resentment towards Sonny. I was once upset with him, yet found it impossible to stay angry. He remained my friend until his passing.
